Declaring an end to hostilities..

...against Ben Affleck. Yup, you read that correctly. In a world pre-occupied with "fringe" issues like the war in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina and the Middle East situation, I hope you'll appreciate my grasp of what people are really mulling.

Ben is a curious case. When he first emerged on the scene, he seemed to have the complete package: the looks, the personality, the talent. He rapidly became pop culture enemy number one by having too good a time and dating women who were too hot and not caring about flaunting his good time. The latter, to many, was his biggest sin.

Then comes redemption: the newly found veil of privacy, the monogamous relationship (to a really, really annoying Jennifer Graner), the baby...and to my mind, a winning appearance on Bill Maher where he showed his intelligence, humor (most of it pretty under-stated) and for a change, his humility.

Based on this summation, I declare an end to hostilities towards Ben. Which allows me to focus my ire fully against Tom Cruise.
