Frida, at the park

Gorgeous day in New York today: 86 degrees without a hint of humidity. Not only that, but I made full use of it as well, by going to play basketball in the East Village and then heading to the park with Johann and our dogs. It was a lot of fun as well and the dogs really enjoyed it. But the hi-light of the park trip was meeting a disabled little dog named Frida (see above).

Her owners had adopted her despite her having a degenerative nerve disease which has rendered her hind legs useless. Frida, who's a Mini Schnauzer, has a wheelchair device which she handles quite deftly. Mimi, in particular, took to her extremely well, which, considering her racist past, was a pleasant surprise. I mean, once one has hurled vile racial abuse at others, what reason would there be to think she'd be above taunting the disabled?
