Conversational Knots

In a discussion, there are loose threads that do not serve the central argument, despite having their own relevance and interest. I need to learn to let those loose threads go and not allow my points to be obfuscated by them. That kind of restraint will free me to proceed further with a conversation and emerge from the fray, quicker.
