Ramblefish now with STREAMING AUDIO
How do you like me now, chickens? You can have your embedded videos and your fancy-shmancy templates...but do you have audio? I...think...not!
Finally, I am an early adopter. With this obstacle overcome, my path to world domination is clear [insert evil laugh here]. The dawn of a new reign of terror (and don't forget lots of porn as well; would hate to disappoint my detractors) has descended...
....ok, I'll stop now. Long (and kind of boring) story short, we can all have audio on our sites. Simply go to odeo.com, pick a player you like with a song/ audio file you don't mind (choices are kind of limited right now, hence my bizarre selection) and add the code listed below to your site templates HTML file.
Make sure to PREVIEW before you save changes. I don't know HTML, so I relied on trial and error to pick the best placement: right underneath the 'favorite links' section and right above the 'previous posts' column.
I understand Google has introduced the same capability for widgets, not just MP3 players, so you can add Google Maps, Weather and Traffic Widgets, Dictionary and so much more, on your humble little displays. But I have yet to locate a link or figure out how that works. So there; let it never be said that this isn't primarily an educational website...with a few naked links to spice things up.
Now, all I need to do is figure out how to play one of my selections on to my page. If anyone figures it out, let me know and I'll split the Nobel prize purse with you.

Use AudioBlogger...it's easy to do and you can play your type of audio (that background you currently have is quite bizarre!)
AudioBlogger has been discontinued. And I didn't have much choice in music to choose from. Naturally, I went with the weirdest thing I could find.
You can definitely upload your own stuff to Odeo. With a (free) OdeoStudio account, you can upload your material to your recordings page. Unlimited number of files, 50mb each. Not only that, but you can also use OdeoStudio to record your stuff. Get busy Podcasting!
