Familjen - Det snurrar i min skalle

Love it. They used images from old religious revivials to create this bewitching video.

Pretty cool and the translation is - It spins in my skull. Very interesting. I wonder what the rest of the lyrics mean.

Hi! I just searched for the original lyrics (it's almost the same language as norwegian), without luck. But I found this translated version. Enjoy!

I….started a fire for you
and now the whole forest is on fire
Now….I know what you are going to say
and it feels just like the first time
Come….let’s show them that it’s us two
but everyone already knows
Out….you run away with me
yeah can you hear them singing
*seizure*

As if….everything was predetermined
as the earth revolving round the sun
Who….would have been able to take my place
he simply doesn’t exist
They….talk of something wonderful
I’m there to tell the story
Large….larger than I ever imagined
the inside of my head is spinning
*seizure*
*repeat verse 1*

Hi! I have translated the english version back to the original language... Swedish! The difference between norwegian and swedish is about the same as American and English..... anywhooo enjoy :)

*repeat verse 1*

this is for the phonetic question...its not that accurate, but better than trying to read swedish for anyone who doesnt know the sounds...

This ain't swedish :) we from Skåne (South of Sweden) call it Skånska and we're very attached to our dialect (and to our flag which is red and yellow unlike the Swedish flag, yellow and blue). Anywhoo, the person who said that "The difference between norwegian and swedish is about the same as American and English" is wrong, I mean since when does English and American have two separate alphabets ?

hahaha takk Onkel! I think it's a bit more fun keeping it in Svenska. "Det snurrar i min skalle" rolls off the tongue a bit better than "the inside of my head is spinning".

Being from Iceland I could actually understand most of the lyrics, even though it's in strange swedish dialect, Skånska, which is strange since Iceland has the most distinct language in Scandinavia. I used to live in Norway though, and half of my family loves denmark, so there's no escaping from it, but this song is so beautiful, especially the lyrics. And it makes me want to learn the scandinavian dialects even more. This song is so awesome.

I lived in Skåne (in Lund) for some time also, and I also think the accent is a bit weird. I´ve never heard mig pronounced "mai", but rather "may".

And good effort with the phonetic translation. There really is no English equivalent to ö and å!! Even the Swedish o is different than the English o. But once you get the hang of it, it's such a fun språk!!

`the song and video are both so beautiful-- and it does sound somewhat phonetically similar to English, to the point that i might consider learning this language or dialect.

can any of you come to a consensus as to what language/dialect/nationality these words are?

the words sound beautiful to me.

this is what i love so much about the internet-- the fact that a group of people like us can come together over our shared love of something we all find beautiful, both despite and because of our language differences and different levels of understanding.

"det snurrar i min skalle" sounds so beautiful to me.

anyone care to teach me how to speak?

This is a great artist we're discussing here, I love both his albums and just posted my personal review of "Maenskligheten" here - http://halfreleases.blogspot.com/2011/07/it-still-spins-in-my-head.html

Out .... you run away with me
