Part of me wants Egypt to lose

I know, I know, it appears to you that I'm a self-hating Egyptian (You think? I emmigrate, I'm critical of all things Egyptian, I'm harsh on my countrymen...what gave you that idea?) but I do have my reasons.

There's so much that's wrong with us: the hypocrisy, the entitlement, the fake morality, the unwillingness to work hard and reward people for their work, not their so-called status. And it's embodied in our national football team. The lads might be hard workers but the hierarchy and the government are corrupt, pig-headed and determined to use any success as proof of our righteousness. Which is nauseating to me and a lot of people in Egypt.

My heart says Egypt, but my head says Cote D'Ivoire. Hopefully, a loss will inspire the unwashed masses (I didn't shower today, by the way) to question the wisdom of our "leaders", our thinking and the things we accept as fact.

Not to mention that I bet $20 we'd lose. Go Elephants!
