Carmen wins a prize (a picture of me masturbating-I want to say it's rare, but sadly, I ain't master of my domain). This picture was part of an 18th century campaign about how serial masturbation can drive you crazy (he's supposed to be in an asylum).

Really? You're giving a prize out for this? ... It is so obvious, I guessed it before I even saw it--from the title of the post in my rss reader. Although, now that I know what the prize is, I'm glad I didn't shoot off (sorry :) ) at the time.
masturbating? the guy looks terribly sick & in need of medication, there are no signs of joy or delight on his face, its slightly contorted too, maybe he is holding his stomach from the pain he's in, oh damnit we will never know for sure.
That's because it's a cautionary print, JM. It basically says if you masturbate, you'll end up insane, blind and locked up in a mental asylum.
will we see ads mocking Aids in the next 100 years? will people be laughing to know that Aids was scary & millions died of it, like Flu wiping off millions just a century ago? i wonder..
